Be very careful; niacin has various forms. If you will be trying this with a loved one what you should try is the form called niacinamide

Hey people, is there a chance that B3 might work though?
I think my Grandmother has Alzheimer's and if there was one thing I could wish for, is her not to pass away helpless with someone spoon feeding her.

Does anyone know if there have been any other ways to slow down at least or cure Alzheimer's?

Thanks, it'd be greatly appreciated.

And so, 3 years on from the original publication of the mouse study (Green et al 2008), where is the proof that this "cure" has any positive effect at all on sufferers of Alzheimer's?

Work on mice has frequently raised false hopes of new treatments for a range of diseases; i suspect this is another one.

Niacin (B3) should be taken in the immediate release form only. The extended release, slo-niacin, etc have no benefits with great potential for liver damage. The regular, immediate release niacin will cause flushing (google it). This is a normal, healthy side effect of niacin. The flush is the benefit of niacin, which prevents AD, reduces cholesterol, and does a number of other beneficial things for the body. Do not drink red bull, as one ignorant commenter suggests.

The easiest way to find Vitamin B3 aka Niacin I know is Red Bull Energy drink. But the caffeine would probably give an 85 year old a heart attack
